100%. And he's hidden 80 responses he didn't like, including this from me when it was the most clapped (267 from 33 people a week ago), "assuming they get past your device's password--so while it's clear that the AI didn't know how to respond to your probing questions, I'm not in agreement with your premise,"

because he saw I had edited in a link to this snarky yet substantive comment from an expert, but Douglas thinks his layman's views cannot be snarked with by an expert:

"You're right. It's an annoying inconvenience. When I come home I'm tired after chasing the horse around the pasture to catch him. (I leave the barn door open.) It's inconvenient to have to find my keys. (Sometimes my genie named Hack hides them.)

The problem is controlling who has easy access. Let's start a compartmentalization revolution and lead protests for open access to cybersecurity practices. Maybe advertise on the web. We'll make new online friends who enter through invisible backdoors and windows. WE will be the overlords!

Of course, we could just go to the bank and hope nobody's published their security codes and practices.

(yes, I work in tech and am frustrated with calls for transparency and explanations. Security is more complex than you might think. My great-grandfather was a signal engineer/operator in the Navy during WWII and part of the Battle of Midway and Guadalcanal campaign. So we both played with encryption and code-breaking. Without it, the world would look very different now.)

But if you really want to solve this problem and believe your laptop cannot break or be stolen, have those texts sent to your inbox. Of course, you'll never be able to track your stolen laptop because the recovery codes will go to your missing laptop.

Glad I could help! 😄"
