Ah yes, this is why I personally remembered Friedkin's name when I saw that he had passed. I watched this a few months ago with a real cinemaphile, George Peppard's son. Gripping movie. Great stories behind the making of it he read to me when he selected it for our viewing. As for the plot, four men all on the run from something hiding out in a desolate central American town taking on a suicide mission in the hopes of a new life is the way I'd describe it.
