An alternate interpretation of mine is don't ask God for personal gain and similar requests. Not even for health of a family member. Only ask for guidance.

Moses mistook bush
Praying for results, that takes Without Name in vain
Worship is in our image, show grace n’ere revere
Only cult leaders command, and condition love
To those using fear to receive love and control
Fiend says next contestant down
where no price is right
Pray for animus desires
in mirror you’ll see hell’s fires

When angels and guides
hear entreaties for advice
The answers that seekers need
those they will receive"
