We have, undoubtedly, certain finer fibers that enable us to perceive truths when logical deduction, or any other willful effort of the brain, is futile.” I'm not sure what he means in the words you quoted. It would make more sense to me if the word "study" were replaced by "accept." To me, study implies proof.
