Take, for example, those who, for whatever reason, have somehow entirely missed the point of your essay, ascribing to you a stance you don’t hold, a position you’ve explicitly refuted, or an attitude you don’t exhibit — all of them wholly inconsistent with the rest of the piece and with your overall literary corpus.
