Before I read your exploration, the title very much describes the overall setting of Richard Bach's novel, "One," which I've written about several times and again just the other day. https://medium.com/catharsis-chronicles/restoring-sanity-individually-and-collectively-2a9b67ee83c3 subtitled "Everyone has the freedom and the power to exercise their free will and make beneficial ripples in the fabric of our lives."
The first time I wrote about the novel back in July, was through this poem that I believe you will enjoy--you usually enjoy my poems. https://medium.com/catharsis-chronicles/mindfully-filling-my-mind-35d1634e51e0
Now you'll see the connection to your title.
In the notes afterward, this is how I describe the book: "The novel, One, tells the metaphysically spiritual tale of husband and wife protagonists as they find themselves hopping from one alternate reality to the next, either encountering versions of themselves who have made or have yet to have made certain choices, or other incarnations of their souls that would not otherwise be recognizable as themselves."
