Clicked the link. I'm no expert on Buddhism. Far from it. I've seen Buddhists and others say that because of anicca and specifically because of anatta, Buddhism does not believe in a soul. I think it does once soul is properly defined.
"Souls are discrete entities; Souls are eternal. Eternal does not imply unchanging. A soul is a sentient being comprised of pure energy of a form and with properties beyond our understanding of energy (“Soul Energy”); it does not dissipate; it does not require a material vessel to encapsulate it; .... Soul Energy provides the spark that ignites cell division in the zygote. ... I have reviewed several definitions of “soul” in preparation for this essay [https://medium.com/p/fe7a93e534f8 one of my first on Medium] and none imply unchanging personality traits. That inference is misplaced and, frankly, illogical. Buddhism teaches that there is after-life and reincarnation. Thus, Buddhism does teach that there is an eternal soul once soul is properly defined."
Did you notice what I said above about conception? I believe fetuses have souls, and your unborn children loved you, Debra, as much as you loved them. I also believe that the soul of a miscarried or any other fetus that never takes a breath agreed to that in its soul contract and thus among all the other reasons abortion should not be outlawed, there's that. https://medium.com/my-unpopular-opinion/my-unpopular-opinion-about-whether-anti-abortionists-and-pro-choice-people-should-agree-to-disagree-75e8b88cecb2
