It turned out I was also next door to the indoor elephant enclosure. The elephants were talking to each other in ultra-sonic sound waves that vibrated the glass in my windows and moved light objects around. Sometimes, I could hear their low rumbles, other times, it was the silent ‘‘evidence,’’ as I called it.
