For it to have been a mirror coincidence one would have to think that your mother's mind caused the oil spill which doesn't make sense. In the examples in my story, it makes sense that the man's mind caused his watch to stop and that the flight attendant's mind caused the soda can to spray. Your mother was worried about you because of the premonition but her mind wouldn't have subconsciously wanted you to get hurt.
