Found my way here via Joseph's piece just now. Loved the imagery in your song/poem. These words I highlighted remind me of a couple of tanka I wrote in Dec 2021 about my walk after the first snowfall that year in New Hampsire.

"Young Evergreen Trees

Weeping under weather’s weight

Afraid shall not grow

To enjoy the sun’s splendor

Like prior generation"

"Grown tree touches sky

Light cotton ball snow adorns

sunshine basked new growth

Wise adult trunks support them

Such lucky children they are"
