Great piece. You explained your excellent thoughst very well. There is another more fundemental issue with affirmations and that is that LOA as constructed by new age spirituality does not exist. Positive thought does not change outcomes (as opposed to attitudes) anymore than negative thoughts attract neagive outcomes. The victim shaming aspect of LOA invalidates it. If there is a properly stated LOA, it is karma, also properly defined. As I read in a channeling by DL Nemeril, "Here, we would like to add that we do not agree with karma meaning you have to ‘pay’ for what you did in another lifetime. That is a very human perception, of life being a court system meting out reward and punishment. Karma is a vibrational level that draws the experiences needed for healing and growth to a soul. Nothing more."
