Great piece, DJ, about a great song. Brings me back. I distinctly remember now a memory I haven't had in years. Songs do that, as I'm sure you know. Judy, the first woman I ever regularly slept with, and I used to tear up the dance floor to this song, and I would act out the falling to me knees verse, never breaking eye contact.
It also represents the end of my R.E.M. era, that started for me in real time with their first release, their EP Chronic Town in 1982, then Murmur, then Reckoning, and peaking for me with Fables of the Reconstuction and then Lifes Rich Pageant.
