I've seen so many different versions of the Socrates quote about knowledge or lack thereof, fr example:
"True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us."
and
"One thing I know, is that I know nothing. This is the source of my wisdom."
Plus, as I understand it, Socrates taught only orally and thus the quotes of his his are Plato's--when Plato quoted Socrates were they supposed to be literal quotes or did he put words in his mouth as you discuss here? What do you understand that Socates actually said and meant on this matter? I take it to mean that the more he learned the more he realized he had so much more to learn--he was being humble. I find that many people like to quote it to say that nobody knows anything, which is ridiculous.
