Hi Katrina. I agree with everything you said. And it is why I am not sending this fabulous link to my mother who gaslights my belief in and beliefs about souls and human-spirit interactions in the name of SCIENCE. https://medium.com/mystic-minds/why-is-everyone-so-obsessed-with-science-these-days-b1737475abc6. I know I am not going to change her mind and that's her loss ;). (this is all complicated by my having canceled my father and she needs something outside me to blame that on--"you need a psychiatrist not a [channeler]." I also do not get angry for people's other beliefs / disbeliefs. I get angry when the materialists on Medium violate our boundaries to TELL us we are wrong. I used the word boundary on purpose because there is one in particular that I am sparring with and he thinks I hate him. I do not. I m angry with him because first he expresses a kinship of shared loss of love with me, then insists on souls being a figment of our imagination, and when I tell him that he is thereby shitting all over my relationship with Sitara and to either apologize or shut up, he does neither. And I see him patronizingly telling others who write about soul's that they are wrong, and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The open letter to those that deny the existence of souls and feel compelled to piss in our stories is close to being fully baked in my minds before I ever put fingers to keyboard. The letter will not only be to them, but to the right meaning yet misguided spiritualists who think everyone is entitled to space in our space to say their peace. Bullshit — the misanthropes do not join the conversation to elevate. They join to try and bring us down because misery loves company and it is wrong not to speak up and call them out for who they are. One of the last things I am somewhat struggling with is whether to flat out name this gaslighter in my story which I am strongly leaning towards against the examples and wishes of others.
