Honestly, this one has not so much to do with whether the language of poetry computes with one, and more so it's kind of full of literary references, that I tried to decode with my line by line explainers, but even still it may be too professorial for everyone, and I feel badly about that--my girlfriend is feeling terrible that the poem does not speak to her, and no one should feel that way--the only standard i wrote this to is my own, and I am proud of it, and that's what i tried to circle back to with the haiku at the end. I must honestly state that as a writer of poetry i often do not enjoy other's poetry if they do not provide a decoder ring, but i see that even my decoder ring may require pre-knowledge of Hesse's writings for it to make sense. Now as I write this, I think anyone interested spirituality at its most undogmatic and purest form would love love love reading Siddhartha and Demian, and if my poem gets anyone to read them, i will be very pleased and I know they will too.
