I agree with Spyder. Listen to your body and soul and do what feels right. Some writers need goals. Some go with the flow. Everyone is different. One thing that I do often if I am not inspired to publish a feature is meaningfully engage with others articles, and by that I do not mean a sentence of compliment--I mean engaging in a conversation about the substance of the piece, whether or not I agree with it--partial agreement and supplement is often rewarding. I get as many or more followers this way than I do from publishing, even after the few with thin skin that I lose :). Not that I am a well-followed writer--but I am pleased with the progress. Besides, even if the writer doesn't like what I have said, other people read the comments and that is where the growth spurts happen
