I did not use freedom of speech to write this. You are conflating issues. I cannot stand misuse of labels. For example, critical race theory actually stands for the proposition that races do not exist. Rather we are all humans and race is an invention, a human construct, to divide people, and then I see people using the CRT label to divide kids in schools into affinity groups to further the false message of difference rather than dismantle it. https://www.americanbar.org/groups/crsj/publications/human_rights_magazine_home/civil-rights-reimagining-policing/a-lesson-on-critical-race-theory/

PS: Thank you Rebecca for this polite, intelligent, meaningful engagement.

PPS: I take it your point is that because the govt has not said what someone can and cannot say on Medium that I am exercising my right to free speech, but Medium has rules as to what can and cannot be said, and that’s Medium’s right as a private citizen, and I think Medium’s res are too lax, but now let’s turn to Facebook, which if you followed the whistle blowers testimony, allows harmful speech because it sells, and that should not be countenanced nor claimed as the right to free speech. I read that in Switzerland it’s illegal to tell lies in a political campaign and if lies are determined to have influenced an election in favor of the winner, the election is voidable. Is that true? I would love to see that limit on free speech implemented in America.https://medium.com/illumination-curated/can-we-please-all-find-the-space-within-which-to-breathe-the-same-air-and-agree-not-to-agree-6b6b2c8077ec
