I do not believe in the pursuit of happiness--it's a false promise, like so many religions.

Rather, as I have written many times, "I seek contentment, which is not settling but a hopefully high-altitude baseline, coming from within and connection to without. It doesn’t stem from the acquisition of attachments but awareness of connection to the world and the universe as a living, breathing, and heart-beating organism and from alignment of mind and soul and discerning my why — my drive — from discovering who I am at my core."

On religion, I have written: "Religions have been designed to be believed and thus construct God as a deliverer of human wants if we do as we are told, which God is not. So people either blindly believe in God because the lie of what God is is believable, or reject God because the God defined by religions cannot co-exist with the reality that most people do not get what they want, or are not actually happy, and a world full of seemingly senseless tragedy and really bad things happening to good people."

I do believe in God, I just understand the concept differently than most religions teach. See, https://medium.com/illumination/why-is-it-so-easy-for-people-to-believe-the-most-obvious-lies-yet-require-proof-of-god-339a2a07cc4f , and https://medium.com/know-thyself-heal-thyself/how-do-you-define-god-9898492eae9

As for why “evil” exists, as the author (Henya Drescher) to whom I comment knows, it doesn’t need the concoctions of original sin or the new age spiritual corollary of its perversions of the “law of attraction” into victim shaming and blaming, to support a belief that how else can an unconditionally loving and benevolent god allow good people to suffer. See my https://medium.com/know-thyself-heal-thyself/lets-talk-about-villains-and-victims-c7795f2fa91e and my https://medium.com/channspirations/revisiting-karma-and-the-law-of-attraction-997965601b65.

PS: I remember a couple of great Joe Moody pieces on all this. https://medium.com/soul-mission/why-does-god-allow-suffering-ba7b275b1425 and https://medium.com/soul-mission/atheism-is-dead-f0303ee6c990

PPS: As a comment posted to my profile, which may or may not be a function of which many possess awareness, this post cannot be metered for MPP and I am fine with that. I am curious whether any subscribers that read this find value to them as a reader of such a post. I believe readers lose out by not scanning the comments of others in stories they read for meaty ones and the conversation threads that get woven into tapestries.
