I enjoyed the poem, Carolyn, together with great musical choices. Aime has always been a song I love. Moon River, there are so many great renditions. Andy's is great, as is Audrey's and I just found this one by Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck https://youtu.be/SKIFrPn0m4c that I highly recommend. Turn the Beat Around is definitely a prize of the disco era. Plus 1776, that brings back memories. I didn't realize it came out in 1972. I think I saw it on a rainy day in sleep away camp in the late 70s or maybe it was back in theaters around the bicentennial. What a great cast too that I didn't know at the time. William Daniels (St. Elsewhere), Ken Howard (The White Shadow), Blythe Danner, the quintessenital actors actor (her husband Bruce Paltrow created St. Elsewhere).
I recently wrote a death and dying poem that you may enjoy. https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/learning-to-love-by-observing-the-art-of-dying-well-2048b13f71d2 subtitled "An acrostic poem melding of the concepts of ars moriendi and ars amandi." I also link therein two great recent death and dying poems by Claire Kelly.
