I find the belief that a sex worker would necessarily not be a caring human being very stereotypical and narrow-minded. That belief displayed by the statement by your son, which you did not need to repeat and further endorsed by you writing "she was not a hooker," impaired the story for me. The only salient point is that she was a stranger.

Anyway, not sure why you didn't just get a room at any one of the numerous hotels by the airport rather than trusting a complete stranger.
