I get most of my spiritual growth from books written by masters of literature, who happen to be spiritual, like Hermann Hesse and Viktor Frankl. The only guru book I ever read, and it is great, is Conversations with God, Book 1 (and only book 1). The rest of my spiritual lessons come from direct conversations with my guides and highest power through my channeler Anne, as I write about often, most recently in my story yesterday about suicide prevention. https://medium.com/the-pom/dizain-of-suicide-72bcde4dc8d8. I credited Anne therein for her contribution to saving my life, and she responded thusly in SMS: "Although I knew the story of you and Andrew, my recollection of the reading is spotty. Bringing it back to me in your eloquent writing made me cry for Andrew and for you. You honor me, giving me so much credit, that I don't feel I deserved."

I replied: "Anne, you do not realize the power of your gift to help the open minded. In your mind you may just be a conduit, but how would this story and so much else that I have learned and written about have come to fruition without your gift?"

To which Anne responded: "Thank you! Because I hold this gift in its highest level of awareness, I tell myself it comes through me not of me so I can hold it in humility, as a way of thanking God for giving it to me. Although I still remain ambivalent to have it, I believe I use it for its highest good. "

Me again: "Humility is great unless it holds you back. Balance. So that humility stops arrogance without stemming confidence"

Anne: "Gotcha...Well said!!"

So readers of this comment, our relationship is one where we exchange ideas and learn from each other. Anne is legit.
