I have questions about guidelines. A) Ctrl a counts every word, captions, box links and all. I thus always count those in my limits to make sure the medium algorithm will recognize my short forms as such. Are your guidelines irrespective of the algorithm? B) similarly, the medium algorithm requires that a "title" not be formatted as big T but must be formatted as bold. Is that rule supposed to be followed or are you looking for short (≤ 150) stories regardless of how medium sees them? C) I often create a short form as a response as story to someone else's story, in which case medium automatically creates a box link to that story, and until that may be accepted into a pub that box link appears at the top of the story — I had issues with Everything Shortform, whose editors could not wrap their heads around this and rather than understand that I was not trying to disregard their rules, sometimes I forgot and they removed me as a writer. Do your rules count that link as one of the two and that I cannot control the placement of that box link? D) do you have any limit on inline links — I don’t think you do but I don’t want any misunderstandings.
My medium ID is @marcus17043
Here are some examples of short forms I have done:
This next one is one where I could not control the placement of the box link because it was a response as story instead of a “write story” story
