I haven't read these books but I agree with the messaging as you describe it from the Manson book and the last book you recommended. When my journey started two books that were recommended to me that had a profound effect were Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations with God, An Uncommon Dialogue, Book One, and Craig S. Bell's Comprehending Coincidence, Synchronicity and Personal Transformation. The first book opened me up to a belief in God outside of the dogma of religions. The latter opened me up to the signals that are available all the time to guide us. I describe all this in more detail in this unmetered (not MPP) story The Start of My Yellow Brick Road. I also recommend Siddhartha and Demian, each by Hermann Hesse, which I found by following signals and have each profoundly affected me.
