I hope you mean early Simple Minds. The song Up on the Catwalk comes to mind. Now I'll Google for the album names: Sons and Fascination (1981), New Gold Dream (1982) and Sparkle in the Rain (1984), all of which I discovered through friends after I got to college in 1985.
