I imagine the writing is better on Substack, but for really good writing, I've restarted regularly reading novels again, and nothing particularly new. I've read only two books from this century this year, and they were both recommendations, no, three, I also read Alan Arkin's short memoir, which I found on my own or it found me. The recommendations were Amor Towles's A Gentleman in Moscow and Jonas Jonasson's The 100-Year-Old-Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. The older books I've been reading or rereading are from the likes of Hesse, Hemingway, Maugham, and Bradbury.
