I know some people affected, and at least one who lost her home. Though until seeing the pictures on the news, I didn't begin to understand the devastation.

As for cause, of course the conditions are the result of climate change, whatever it's cause. As for what ignited the fires in the first place, I suspect at least some via human reckless actions or sick intent. There was no lightning. One fire could be an accident, but so many? Once one was blazing I can't see how anyone would be reckless but can envision someone being intentional.
