I love taking winter walks, layered up, I took one today to leave my tracks in the fresh snow. But yeah, single digit wind chills are one thing, 25 below, I'd enjoy the glint of the bright sun off the snow from inside.

When I lived on the small lake in NH, which very much resembles yours, I loved walking on it and chatting with the ice fisherman, or the people shoveling out a section by their shoreline for ice hockey.
