I love to play tennis and I love to watch it. Going to the US Open as a kid and bringing rackets and playing on unused courts at night was fun. This was 40ish years ago, before it became as huge as it is now. In somewhat recent years, taking my daughter for a full-day excursion on or near her August 29th birthday was a lot of fun, especially if it had rained the day before and they had matches on the GA courts running till midnight. Working in a Mets (baseball) game across the street also makes a fun full day of it. My daughter is a much better player than I ever was and plays on the club team at her university and last year, as her school starts late, she tried out and got chosen to be a ball girl. She's doing it again this year.
