I see a few red tailed hawks here--I saw many when I lived in NH and this reminded me of one day we both paused:

"Birds of prey soaring

Her majesty halts my walk

One hawk halts as well

It’s hovering motionless

Sublime proof of the Goddess"

I called that one Gaiadynamic Divinity https://medium.com/p/3cfedb82d8d2

Today I took a walk. I intended to go just a mile, turning around at the 1/2 mark. I kept on going past the next turnaround mark and ended up doing a 3.5mi loop, which went quickly as I started writing an essay in my head that I've been considering writing for a week or more but not sure I would. It involves nonsense between writers.

About a mile from home, when the essay was fairly formed in my head, I heard a bird sound that I had not heard before. I paused. My peripheral vision told me it was a woodpecker. I had heard many pecking in NH ( https://medium.com/p/838ea561422b) but had not seen one here in PA and I don't know that I had ever heard their vocalizing before. I turned, spotted it, and then it disapperared into its hole in a tree I took that it sung to me as a sign from my guides that they approve of my intent to write the essay.

Maybe I'll turn this comment about my walk into a haibun. But that's for another day. I'm hungry.

Thanks for the link to Ulf's lovely piece. Was nice to see you mention Amy.
