Regarding passive voice, I strive at avoid it. Not because proper grammar says I should, but simply because I find the active voice alternatives to almost any passive voice clause sound more powerful, direct, and pleasing. In the back of my mind, I suspect I had an English teacher in middle school who drummed loudly against passive voice. However, whether or not you, Nada, write in the passive voice, you write strongly and clearly.
