I was going to make my previous comment longer but decided separate is better. Re this aphorism, first I call you and your readers attention to this excellent piece by a writer, Laxaa, that I read over two years ago: https://medium.com/illuminations-mirror/there-is-no-religion-in-heaven-d08a33511ee8

The entire 11 minute read is great--here's a tease: "Read ancient mystics from different cultures. Read sacred scriptures from other cultures. You will begin to see striking similarities....As you do this you will begin to distill out the Divine in all of these “religious” traditions…and you can throw away what has been interjected by man’s ego. Then you will know Truth. I am not saying that all “religions” are valid. I am saying no “religion” is valid. Many “religions” contain kernels of truth; aspects of God. Many “religions” lay claim to certain mystics who were undoubtedly Divinely inspired and knew God. But no “religion” has a monopoly on God precisely because once something becomes “religion” man has added earthly things to it. Earth is not Heaven. As we said when we started this chat, there is no religion in Heaven."

Next my https://medium.com/illumination/why-is-it-so-easy-for-people-to-believe-the-most-obvious-lies-yet-require-proof-of-god-339a2a07cc4f which I think was the second piece I ever wrote for Medium back in Nov 2020 subtitled "Conversely, Why Does this Walking BS Detector not Believe 90% of Peoples’ Claims Yet Firmly Believe in Eternal Souls and God(s)?"

Regarding institutional religions I say in part "Every religion is flawed. Religions are designed by humans. Humans are flawed. Thus religious view of God are flawed....The gods exist despite whatever a religion teaches. God does not exist because a religion teaches that she/he/they exist."

Then, my lawyer friend, I invoke res ipsa loquitor for why I believe in God. :-)
