I'm 75% through my 4th read over a 40 year span of Hermann Hesse's Narcissus and Goldmund. Been reading a couple chapters a day (about 30 pages). I've been underlining etc a lot. The first time I read it was for high school when I was 16. I don't remember when the second read was. The third read was in 2009 when I was struggling in my marriage and had not yet started my spiritual journeying. So I was a different person before each read than any other read and a changed person after each read.

It's my favorite book by my favorite author.
