I'm going to make a distinction here between emotions and feelings. Not the extreme distinction that I make in my essays that say that emotions corrupt our pure feelings, but rather one that stays close to the synonymous manner in which most people use the words. It's important to let the emotion dissolve or at least dissolve a bit because emotions have a lot of energy and if we stay in the emotion then it becomes supercharged. Let the emotion dissipate but don't forget what caused it in the first place and don't forget the message of the feeling.
