I'm not bothered by this, as I trust myself to choose the right doctor. Often surgeon is also a paid consultant for the equipment company and if that's disclosed, I have no problem with that either. The brain surgeon who did my DBS surgery is a paid consultant for the manufacturer of the device I chose.
