Having discovered the Stargate channel on Pluto TV recently, I've been watching many hours a day of one of my favorite Sci Fi series, Stargate SG-1, which often touches upon the theme of your essay. Also been watching the Stargate Atlantis spinoff that I also enjoyed but not as much.
