It ocurred to me that while we are both anti-religion and there is plenty of bathwater to be tossed, perhaps we should also realize that there is plenty of positive aspects in religion. In my essay Spirituality Redefined, I cite and quote one of the first essays I read on Medium, Which Religion Is Right, by Leah Castellon. Finding no religion satisfactory but finding aspects she likes in many, many that she explored, she concludes: "If there is one clear message that I feel I have learned on my path it is this: God is love and more expansive than I can wrap my brain around; His love is so much greater than I can comprehend. With the diversity of the people on this earth, doesn’t it stand to reason that infinite love would provide a multitude of channels to access that source? I think so. For that reason, I will not adhere to any particular religion, but I will honor my personal journey and the paths of fellow earnest seekers."
PS: It seems to me that to many of its adherents (not you (I think)), Atheism is their religion, and they are just as dogmatic as many devout Catholics, and just as insulting toward people that believe in God as adherents of one religion may be to those of another. One Medium writer athiest commented to me that believing in God is a mental illness and believers belong in the hospital.
