It's possible. There is not one answer to this question. I will convey to you and anyone else reading this what I understand from my personal experience with this question.

This life cycle as Greg is my soul's, Marcus's, 17,043rd human incarnation. Souls, in conjunction with other souls and with the approval of supervising souls, write our improv script lesson plans for each life cycle, each script being designed for the soul to experience various aspects of humanity and to learn spiritual lessons. We generally travel with 80-120 of the same souls in each life cycle and we all consult to write these scripts and the intersecting roles we play. I know this because in one of my soul's incarnations my human was a white man deeply involved in the black slave trade (in two other life cycles sandwiching that one I was a black male slave and a black female slave). Recently I had wondered whether I became a slave trader because that was the role we wrote or whether that was the result of free will run amok. Yesterday in a channeled session facilitated by my psychic medium I asked that question. Interestingly first my channeler, Anne, chimed in that it was free will but my lead spirit guide corrected her. In that instance my role as a slave trader was in fact written in my soul contract.
