I've cleaned out my list a few times but I've never followed a lot. I never felt compelled to follow for follow and if I follow lots of people it makes Medium's from following feed useless. I had it down to somewhere in the low 100s. It's crept up to about 200 now as I started to reward good stories with a follow when Medium started including new follows as a paid MPP engagement.
