I've had a similar experience on Medium. Bear with me...I don't put much effort into finding the feature images. I think the click in value is 99% BS as the thumbnails one sees on the computer or the app...you get my drift

For a book cover--or an album cover--the art is huge. I definitely bought many of both because I liked the cover. I digressed from what I was saying to bring this back to you and your book, for a moment, my dear sweet friend with an angelic voice. Did you check out the Pernoste and Dahl Medium story I emailed you. Besides that you will love everything they (husband and wife team) write, her voice in the recording in the story I sent you sooooooo reminded me of you. You would be emailing a comment such as this. I'm comfortable doing it in comment pane. This is how I roll. You laughing yet?

Where was I. Ah yes, "in awe of how this cover represented me" and Greg and feature image effort. I rarely find a perfect image. Sometimes I do. A handful of times at most. The one for my Dizain of Suicide--that was a gem. https://depositphotos.com/photo/psychology-suicide-suicidal-severe-depression-therapy-mental-illness-health-concept-199243260.html

Sometimes, after a few minutes of looking for an image and if the story is important to me and I'm not liking what I'm seeing, I pivot. I text jules Miz Mindful and ask her if she has the time to make an image. She always says yes and will ask me for key words or thoughts. That, I do not do. I say read it, feel the energy, and create me an image. That has worked several times, including twice more in the last eight days. First the image in this piece, https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/a-ballade-to-my-dearly-departed-friends-and-lover-c69aa9903a32, and Friday night with the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious image for this one, which every time I look at it, leaves me speechless--what's that Marcus, speechless, you're not shutting up already here!! :-D https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/elegiastic-ode-to-joy-life-and-death-99ccb4866171

Ok--now back to reading your promo, which I'm proud of you for doing--I know self promotion is not easy for you. It's not remotely bragging ya know. Celebrating oneself is not bragging (see these from Holly Kellums, an original Medium friend I choose not to engage with anymore but admire most of what she posted before she left the platform, and besides, your book won't sell without marketing. https://medium.com/illumination-curated/celebrating-success-to-be-successful-793ccbc0e339 or the short version for people without your bandwidth https://medium.com/illumination-curated/celebrities-celebrate-themselves-and-you-should-too-oprahs-tickets-to-timeless-fame-8a379e1047c9)

Ok, back to your story. I'm looking forward to the mention. I subscribe to you so when Medium doesn't pretend to glitch, I get an email, as I did tonight, so...

Love you, say hi to Jeff. Did he laugh when it turned out I said the same thing thing that he said to you the other week re the book and readers?
