Just this morning, around the time you were writing this, I received notifications that a writer/reader who hasn't had much time for Medium this year but stops into a story of mine every few months when he senses it's a particularly resonant one, had clapped and highlighted my shaes of grey story from the other day. I smiled, anticipating a special comment would be forthcoming. About an hour later I got that notification and he did not disappoint, leaving a fairly lengthy comment that was both meaningfully engaging with the subject matter and full of appreciation. Here's his comment https://medium.com/@mark.krauss21/i-love-this-marcus-3ca1daa343c5, to which I replied at the end of our thread:
"Your comments are like the rare perfect golf shot that feels so soft off the club and wooshes through the air that when I used to play golf regularly and usually poorly a lifetime ago kept me coming back for more (I know I'm a good writer so the analogy is not perfect...)"
