Me too, but so I do not leave you with a false impression, my path to wholeness turns out not to include abstinence. I learned to treat the underlying maladies and drink like a "normal." Many truly have an allergy. Many do not and get grouped with everyone else. One of the many reasons AA has less than 15% full sobriety is the members' insistence that everyone that walks into the rooms is the same and that there is only one path. Little do they know that they have corrupted the path the founders created by creating a culture of shame within an already stigmatized group. One of my goals is to fix that--to remove the stigma from substance abuse and mental health generally. You read this 3 months ago.
