My first 6 months in southern NH I lived on a large pond/small lake/former reservoir in Salem, NH. In the winter I loved walking for hours on and around the frozen pond. When the ice melted I discovered the kayaks under a tarp at the house. My last night in Salem I lit a fire in the pit by the dock as a beacon and went out onto the water in a kayak at 1am. Floating in the middle under the moon and stars was the best part. and making sounds (I may have howled) that I could hear ripple across the water and echo back at me. Here are a couple of poems with pictures of the pond for reference. https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/gaias-reflection-tanka-7ee5c56b103e
