My peronal beliefs/understanding of karma stem from what I have learned outside of any philosophy or religion from channeled conversations I and others have had with not incarnated souls. I believe it has nothing to do with punishment and reward and is all about learning. As I discuss in my essay, https://medium.com/channspirations/revisiting-karma-and-the-law-of-attraction-997965601b65, the description that I came across that I discern as the most accurate is this:
"Here, we would like to add that we do not agree with karma meaning you have to ‘pay’ for what you did in another lifetime. That is a very human perception, of life being a court system meting out reward and punishment. Karma is a vibrational level that draws the experiences needed for healing and growth to a soul. Nothing more."
I then applied that to redefine the Law of Attraction. I have always argued that the Law of Attraction as described ny new age spiritualists and sellers of various books does not exist as a law. That manifestation through positive thought sometimes works does not a law make and the victim blaming flip side (you brought your misery upon yourself through negative vibes) bothered me greatly, Then I had the epiphany described in my essay:
"I realized after reading DL Nemeril's guides’ thoughts on karma that the law of attraction describes the vibrational pulls of our soul contracts, not what we humans consciously or subconsciously emit."
