My personal beliefs regarding life cycles are similar to the hindu teachings. I wrote about mine and noted how they are similar to Hindu and Buddhist tenets here. https://medium.com/know-thyself-heal-thyself/eternal-soul-properly-defined-fe7a93e534f8 I find buddist insistence on there not being a soul to be an issue of definition, not fact.
I firmly believe that time of death (and birth) are predestined. I believe that the place and manner of death could be pre-determined yet I believe free will, both our own and that of others, usually affects the how we live and die. I have written a few essays on how everyone could benefit from subscribing to that belief, most importantly, with respect to suicide attempt prevention. https://medium.com/@marcus17043/my-takeaways-from-news-that-alec-baldwin-charged-with-involuntary-manslaughter-4381d31637
My lead spirit guide (and I do mean a spirit) is named Rama :-) https://medium.com/illumination/i-speak-to-god-and-god-speaks-to-me-23bff8ec2274
