My recent poem https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/elegiastic-ode-to-joy-life-and-death-99ccb4866171, contains this line, "Vulnerability shall blend the yin and yang of divine masculine femininity — what is the Cure — boys should cry." In the notes section I link to the Cure's Boys Don't Cry. Not for the lyrics but just because I love it. There are about 20 song references in the poem with corresponding links in the notes.
Anyway, a few of me and my close male friends will say "I love you" to each other. On the other hand, even though it's true, it's almost never said by my parents and siblings even if I say it to them. 🤷♂️
