None of what follows describes the thoughts behind my poem, which are purposely ambiguous and borrow from a nursery rhyme for maximum contrast.

When I first started poeming, which I have long since used as my wordsmithed gerund, after a brief affair with syllabic and non-rhyming haiku, I fell in love with tanka and other non-rhyming syllabic forms, and then dismissed my disdain for parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.

Moved on from there to rondeaus, sonnets, and other rhyming forms, and then to free verse, which lo and behold, simply means anything goes — often hiding rhyming and syllabic patterns within the misty midst.
