On a serious note, that brought tears to my eyes and a pit in to my stomach. I don't want you to cry but know it's part of this process that you are sharing.

Now less serious, yes, anything too hot, or too cold, loses its flavor, or more accurately, interferes with our tastebuds ability to sense the flavor. I set my electric tea kettle to a medium temp--just enough to get a good brewing through the tea bag but not so much that I have to let it cool too much to drink and even when it cools to room temp, I'm happy. And white wine--please people, stop drinking it refridgerator cold. They all taste the same at that temperature.
