One of my favorite quotes that Neale Donald Walsch channeled from God is:
“Do not waste the precious moments of this, your present reality, seeking to unveil all of life’s secrets. Those secrets are a secret for a reason. Grant your God the benefit of the doubt.” I usually use that quote to discuss my philosophy of science but while recognizing that you are trying to apply logic to your question, I thought it would be fun to drop it here. Also, it does apply to your point 2.
