Recently, I finished reading One by Richard Bach (the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Illusions, and several other novels). In One, Richard and his wife at the time, Leslie, take the reader along with them on a spiritually messaged metaphysical journey among many alternate realities in which they encounter either versions of themselves at crossroads that the protagonists have already navigated, or different people whom they recognize as other incarnations of their souls.

At each stop on the journey, Richard and Leslie learn something about themselves and the reader can receive a broader message as well. I plan on sharing several of these messages in a series of posts. I want to start with a message that I and any other writers on Medium try to convey as the easier-said-than-done remedy for the polarization and hatred that continue to infect our world even in this time of a positive energetic shift that many perceive.

The message — There is no us and them. There are no races. Different nationalities, ethnicities, colors, religions, genders, sexual preferences, socioeconomic status, political affiliations…
