Personally, I know based upon the work product and how it flowed. I just know/feel when I have had co-creators in my process. Was it my soul, my guides, Sitara, Andrew, Jason, God... sometimes I feel who it was and sometimes I don't. Doesn't really matter to me.
Sometimes, fairly often, it's a line or a paragraph that when I re-read it soon after writing or maybe months afterward I'm like, damn that was good--I had help from the realms or my soul with that one. Sometimes I note in a kicker of a poem "A Marcus and Sitara production." A few days ago I wrote a long poem. 3 minute read of all poem. No notes. I, Greg, decided I wanted to write an acrostic. I, Greg, then came up with the acrostic and wrote it vertically in my poem journal that I use to hand write some poems because doing that fully engages both sides of my brain. Then the words of each line flowed onto the page. I knew right away it was a full team effort. I noted in my subtitle that it was a downloaded poem. I had never said that before. https://medium.com/write-under-the-moon/manifesto-1a8e00acb5a4
